Growing Conditions
☀️ Lighting
Bright indirect light! Begonias love light but no direct sun - it burns the leaves! Place near a window with a sheer curtain, or a shaded balcony. In winter - you can move it closer to the window.
💧 Watering
Balance is key! Keep the soil slightly moist, allow the top centimeter to dry between waterings. Very sensitive to overwatering! Water directly onto the soil - not on the leaves! Wet leaves = mold.
💨 Humidity
Loves high humidity (50-70%)! But do not mist the leaves - causes mold! Use a pebble tray with water or a humidifier. A well-lit kitchen or bathroom are good spots.
🌡️ Temperature
Likes moderate heat. 15-24°C is ideal. Sensitive to cold and drafts! Do not let it drop below 13°C. Also sensitive to extreme heat - above 30°C can cause stress. Keep away from air conditioners and cold windows.
Common Problems & Solutions
💛 Yellow leaves
Usually due to overwatering - the most common reason! Can also be underwatering or direct sun. Check the watering schedule and ensure the soil dries between waterings.
🟤 Brown edges
Sign of low humidity, underwatering, or over-fertilization. Increase humidity (pebble tray, humidifier), check watering, reduce fertilizer.
🍄 Powdery Mildew
Common issue in begonias! Caused by wet leaves or excessive humidity without ventilation. Improve air circulation, do not mist leaves, remove infected leaves.
🥀 Leaf/bud drop
Could be too dry air, drafts, or sudden temperature changes. Begonia is sensitive to change - provide it with a stable environment.

Expert Tips
🌸 A huge family!
Begonia is one of the largest families in the plant world - over 2,000 species! There are foliage begonias (like Rex) with stunning colorful leaves, and flowering begonias with flowers in a variety of colors. The Pink Begonia belongs to the flowering group with beautiful pink flowers.
💧 The golden rule of watering
Begonia is a "Goldilocks" plant - it wants everything "just right"! The soil should be moist but not wet. If you're not sure whether to water - it's better to wait! Slight dryness is less dangerous than overwatering. Water when the top centimeter is dry to the touch.
✂️ Pruning and maintenance
Pruning: Pinch tips when the plant is young to encourage lush growth. Remove faded flowers to encourage further blooming.
Cleaning: Remove dry or yellow leaves - prevents diseases.
Repotting: Begonias like to be a bit "crowded" - don't be in a rush to repot!
