💎 About Monstera Albo
What is a Monstera Albo and why is it rare? Monstera Albo (Monstera deliciosa 'Albo Variegata') is a rare genetic variation of the classic Monstera — parts of the leaf lose chlorophyll completely and remain striking white-creamy, often in half-moon, speckled, or sectoral patterns. Every leaf is unique and unrepeatable — making each plant a living piece of art. Large size = more mature leaves, more characteristic holes (fenestrations), and an presence that cannot be ignored.
☀️ Light and Variegation — The Critical Connection
The white areas on the leaf lack chlorophyll — only the green parts photosynthesize. A plant with lots of white needs more light to gain enough energy to function.
In low light: new leaves will come out greener — the plant is "correcting" itself to survive. In good, consistent light: the variegation is preserved and striking.
Ideal location: East window with direct morning light, or South window with a thin curtain. At least 6–8 hours of indirect light per day.

🧗 Support and Climbing
Monstera Albo is an epiphytic-climbing plant — in the wild, it grows along tree trunks and sends out aerial roots. At a large size, a moss pole or trellis is essential.
Moss pole: Keep it moist — aerial roots will grab onto it and provide the plant with moisture and extra stability.
Larger leaves: A plant that climbs produces larger leaves with more holes than a plant grown without support.

🌱 Soil, Fertilizing, and Repotting
Soil: "Chunky" mix for aroids — coco coir, bark, perlite, a bit of vermiculite. Fast drainage is essential.
Fertilizing: Balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during the growing season (Spring–Summer), at half the recommended dose. Stop fertilizing in winter.
Repotting: When roots grow out of the drainage or are very crowded — a gradual increase of 2–3 cm in pot diameter. Do not move to a pot that is too large at once.

❓ FAQ
❓ Is this plant suitable for beginners? – Recommended for those with prior experience with aroids. Variegation requires attention to light and watering. Not for someone looking for a "set and forget" plant — but in the right conditions, the plant grows beautifully and is stable.
❓ A new leaf came out completely green — what happened? – This is normal and happens occasionally — variegation is unpredictable from leaf to leaf. A completely green leaf is actually positive for the plant (more energy), but doesn't guarantee that the next leaves will be green. Sometimes pruning above a completely green point can encourage a return to variegation — but it's not guaranteed.
❓ The white leaf edges are turning black — what to do? – The white areas are extremely sensitive and show stress before the green areas show signs. Common causes: low humidity, water with chlorine/fluoride, or salt buildup. Try rainwater or water that has stood overnight, add a humidifier, and flush the soil periodically to remove salts.
❓ Does the plant come with a pot? – The plant comes in a nursery plastic pot — and our recommendation is to keep it there for the first month of acclimation. Afterward, you can move it to a decorative pot with a slightly larger diameter. We have a large selection of decorative pots and planters in the store — you can add them to your order.
