Growing conditions

☀️ Lighting

Bright, indirect light is ideal. It will also tolerate moderate light, but growth will be slower. Avoid strong direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves. An east or north window is particularly suitable.

💧 Irrigation

Water when 50-75% of the soil is dry. Water thoroughly until water comes out of the drainage holes. It is important to drain excess water from the bottom to prevent root rot. In winter - reduce the frequency of watering.

💨 Humidity

Prefers 40-60% humidity. Tolerates normal indoor humidity, but will benefit from occasional misting or a tray of pebbles with water. Especially suitable for the kitchen or bathroom.

🌡️ Temperature

Common problems and solutions

Schefflera arboricola, also known as the "umbrella plant" or "dwarf umbrella tree," is a popular houseplant in the Araliaceae family. It is native to Taiwan and Hainan, China.

The plant is characterized by shiny leaves arranged in an umbrella shape - 7-9 elliptical leaflets emerging from a single point. In nature it can reach a height of 9 meters, but at home it remains a comfortable size of 1-2 meters.

Schifflera is known for its ability to purify air and remove toxins such as formaldehyde, benzene, and toluene. The plant is very tolerant of indoor conditions and is therefore particularly suitable for beginners and offices. Variegated varieties are available in green-white or green-yellow.

💡 Pro tip

Rotate the pot a quarter turn every week or two so that the plant grows evenly and doesn't "lean" toward the light source. Wipe the leaves from dust occasionally with a damp cloth - this both improves the appearance and helps the plant photosynthesize more efficiently!
