🎨 Philodendron Painted Lady - "The Painted Lady"
A stunning mottled philodendron with arrow-shaped leaves in shades of chartreuse-yellow and green , on reddish-pink stems that create a spectacular contrast! Each new leaf opens in bright yellow and gradually darkens to green.
A rare hybrid between two Philodendron erubescens varieties, combining extraordinary beauty with ease of growth . A climbing plant that can reach a height of 1.5 meters with support - or grow as a full, dense bush!
Each leaf is a work of art! Bright chartreuse-yellow with flecks and shades of green - like a watercolor painting.
What makes this plant special is the reddish-pink stems that create a perfect contrast to the leaves!
Despite its exotic appearance - this is a forgiving and easygoing philodendron! Suitable for beginners who want something special.
Can climb a pole/trellis, grow as a dense bush, or even dangle from a hanging pot!
Like other philodendrons, it filters toxins from the air and improves its quality at home.
Important: The more bright (indirect!) light - the more prominent the yellow variegation will be!
Bright indirect light - ideal!
On a pole or trellis
Let it dangle
Color and energy for space
High humidity = heaven!
In summer, no direct sun
⚠️ Avoid: strong direct sunlight (will burn the leaves), dark place (the variegation will disappear and the plant will return to green).
Keep soil moist but not wet. Water when the top 2-3 cm is dry.
Summer: Once a week | Winter: Once a week or two
💡 The leaves curl up when thirsty - a clear sign!
Bright indirect light = spectacular variegation!
An east/west window is ideal. Artificial lighting also works great.
⚠️ Low light = the leaves will turn green again!
Likes high humidity (50-70%). Also does well with normal household humidity (40%+).
Humidity too low = new leaves open distorted.
18-27°C - Perfect comfortable room temperature. Does not tolerate cold below 13°C.
Rich, well-drained soil (mixture with perlite and peat).
Diluted fertilizer once a month in spring-summer. Don't overdo it!
New leaves open bright yellow and gradually darken to green - it's natural! More light = more yellow. Less light = more green.
If the plant starts to produce completely green leaves - move it to a brighter location! You can prune the green leaves to encourage variegated growth.
Like most philodendrons, it loves to climb! A coconut pole or trellis will help it develop and produce larger leaves.
Easy to propagate from cuttings! Cut below a node, place in water or moist soil - roots within 2-4 weeks.
