✨ Why is quality soil so important?

Root base: Roots need an aerated and drained environment
Water retention: retains moisture without flooding the roots
Nutrients: Enriched mixtures provide food for the plant
Disease prevention: Clean soil prevents fungi and pests
Balanced pH: Suitable acidity level for mineral absorption
Proper structure: not too tight and not too loose
Rapid development: Plants grow faster in good soil
Resilience: Stronger plants cope better with weather

Large pot (25-30 cm): about 8-15 liters
Balcony planter (60 cm): about 20-30 liters
Large jug (40-50 cm): about 30-50 liters
Small bed (1 square meter): about 50-80 liters
Garden (10 square meters): about 500 liters (half a cubic meter)
Tip: It's always better to buy a little more than you thought!

📝 How to use planting medium correctly?

Drainage layer: Place tuff or clay at the bottom of the pot (2-3 cm)
Initial filling: Fill one-third of the pot with soil.
Plant placement: Place the root ball in the center
Completion: Fill with soil around and press lightly.
Correct height: leave 2 cm from the edge for watering
First watering: Water well until water comes out of the bottom.
Stabilization: After a few days the ground will sink - complete
Mulch: You can add a layer of mulch to prevent drying out.

➕ Soil improvement additives

Perlite: Improves aeration and drainage - great for sensitive plants
Tuff: Excellent drainage at the bottom of the pot or mixed with the soil
Compost: Enriches the soil with organic matter and microorganisms
Bio-humus: An extremely rich natural fertilizer - "vitamins" for plants
Vermiculite: Retains moisture - good for plants that like moisture
Sand: Improves drainage - good for succulents
Coconut fiber: retains moisture and ventilates
Activated charcoal: prevents odors and root diseases

🔧 Common problems and solutions

The soil is too compacted: add perlite or tuff for aeration
Water is not absorbed: the soil has dried out too much - soak in a bowl of water
Bad smell from the soil: excess water and rot - reduce watering
Mold on the surface of the soil: high humidity - improve ventilation
Small flies: Mushroom flies - reduce watering, add sand
Roots are coming out from the bottom: it's time to move to a larger pot
Sinking soil: Normal - top up with fresh soil
White crust on the soil: salts - replace the top layer

Tip from the nursery

The golden rule: never plant a plant without a drainage hole in the pot! Even the best soil won't help if water stays at the bottom. Bonus tip: Put a layer of tuff (2-3 cm) at the bottom of each pot before the soil - this ensures perfect drainage and healthy roots!
