🌱 Adaniot Potting Mix - 10-liter bag for small pots and top-ups

A garden mix ready for use from the Adaniot series by the grower from the Galilee. The bag states that it is a potting mix for all types of plants and that it contains peat and organic matter - just open the bag and plant.

The 10-liter bag is the smallest size in the series (also available in 30, 50, and 80 liters). It is suitable for transferring a houseplant into a small-to-medium pot, for a few small pots, or for topping up soil that has settled. Before choosing, it is worth measuring the inside of the pot - the calculation is simple and appears below.

🌿 Why Adaniot potting mix?

✅
Ready to use

Complete garden mix: fill the pot and plant, no need to prepare medium at home.

🌾
With peat

The bag specifies peat and organic matter. Peat helps the medium retain moisture between waterings.

🪴
For house and garden plants

According to the bag, the mix is intended for all plant types - houseplants, seasonal flowers, herbs, and potted seedlings.

📦
Small and convenient volume

10 liters are easy to carry and store on the balcony or in a closet, without a large bag sitting open for months.

🧮
Easy to calculate quantity

The bag fills approximately one round pot with a 25 cm internal diameter and 20 cm depth, or about 4 pots with a 15 cm internal diameter.

🏠 Why and where is it used?

Important: For orchids, cacti, and succulents, a specialized medium is better - they need a more aerated and free-draining substrate.

🏙️ Apartment and balcony

⚠️ Avoid: Containers without drainage holes, a layer of gravel at the bottom of the pot, and strong compaction of the mix around the roots.

🪴 How to use

📏
Measure the pot

Measure the internal dimensions of the pot up to the desired soil line, not external dimensions.
When transferring a plant, subtract the volume of the root ball from the calculation.

🕳️
Check drainage

Use a pot with open drainage holes.
Do not add a layer of gravel at the bottom - it does not improve drainage.

💦
Moisten slightly

Peat-based mix that has dried out completely may repel water initially.
Add a little water and mix until uniformly moist - not soaked.

🌱
Planting

Place the plant at the same height it grew previously.
Fill around the root ball in small portions and firm gently, without packing it down.
Leave 1-2 cm below the rim for watering.

💧
Watering

Water slowly until water emerges from the drainage holes, and empty the tray.
Schedule subsequent watering according to the specific plant and substrate moisture.

📝 Important to know

🧾 What's on the bag

The bag specifies peat and organic matter. Full composition, pH and EC values, and nutrient duration are not advertised, so we do not add ingredients not listed on the packaging.

🌵 Not for every plant

Orchids, cacti, succulents, and plants with special requirements are better off in a specialized medium.

🧪 Fertilization

There is no fertilizer indicated on the bag, so do not rely on nutrients from the mix for long periods. Fertilize according to the plant type and season, following the fertilizer label.

📦 Storage

Seal an opened bag tightly and store in a dry, shaded place - this keeps the mix ready for your next top-up.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

❓ How many pots does a 10-liter bag fill?

Approximately one round pot with a 25 cm internal diameter and 20 cm depth: 3.14 × 12.5 × 12.5 × 20 ÷ 1,000 ≈ 9.8 liters. Or about 4 pots with a 15 cm internal diameter and 14 cm depth (about 2.5 liters each). A pot that tapers downwards holds less, and when transplanting, the root ball occupies part of the volume.

❓ How do you calculate how much soil is needed?

For a rectangular planter: length × width × depth (in cm, inner measurements) divided by 1,000 - the result is in liters. For a round pot: 3.14 × radius squared × depth, divided by 1,000. When transplanting, subtract the volume of the root ball.

❓ Should I put gravel or stones at the bottom?

No. A layer of gravel does not improve drainage and reduces space for roots. Open drainage holes and a suitable potting mix are sufficient.

❓ Is it suitable for orchids or cacti?

Better not. Orchids need a coarse medium based on bark, and cacti and succulents need a more free-draining medium. Both have specialized potting mixes.

❓ Can I plant herbs in a pot with it?

Yes. The mix is intended for all types of plants. Ensure the pot has drainage and water according to the plant's needs.

❓ What is the difference between 10 and 80 liters?

It is the same garden soil mix available in four sizes: 10, 30, 50, and 80 liters. The 10-liter bag is suitable for one or several small pots and for topping off; for a large planter, choose a larger bag or several bags.

❓ Why did the soil settle after a few waterings?

Fresh potting mix settles slightly during the first few waterings. Top off until there is 1-2 cm of space below the rim, without packing it down.

🌱 In short - who is this for?

The Adaniot potting mix in a 10-liter bag is suitable for those transferring a houseplant to a small-to-medium pot, planting a few small pots, or topping off soil. For larger projects, the same mix is also available in 30, 50, and 80 liters.

💡 Tip: Before planting, lightly moisten the mix and mix it – a uniformly damp medium absorbs the first watering much better.
