❓ Why do tulips need cooling?

The tulip needs a cold period to bloom properly, and the winter in Israel is not cold enough. 6-9 weeks in the refrigerator at about 5°C provides this cold.

❓ When do you start cooling and when to plant?

Count backward from the planting date (November-January): place in the refrigerator 6-9 weeks before, and plant immediately when taken out.

❓ How deep do you plant?

At a depth of about 5 cm, with the pointed end facing up, and at an interval of 5-10 cm.

❓ Can you plant in a pot?

Yes. A pot with a drainage hole and aerated medium, in a partially shaded place. Five bulbs fit nicely in one pot about 20 cm in diameter.

❓ How long until blooming?

According to the manufacturer, blooming arrives about two months after planting - usually in February-March.

❓ What to do after blooming?

Cut off the withered flower, leave the leaves until they turn yellow, then stop watering.

❓ Will the tulips bloom again next year?

In the local climate, the blooming in the second year is usually weaker, which is why many plant new bulbs each season. You can try to keep the bulbs dry in the summer and cool again before planting.
