🎯 How to choose the right size?

Rule of thumb: The new pot should be 2-3 cm wider than the previous pot.

📏 Not too big: Too big a pot = too much moisture = root rot
📏 Not too small: Too small a pot = cramped roots = slow growth
🌱 New orchid from the store: usually comes in a small pot - upgrade one size
🔄 Transfer: Transfer when the roots fill the pot or come out of it.

💡 Tip: A standard-sized Phalaenopsis orchid (the most common) usually fits into a 15×13 cm pot.

🌱 Tips for moving an orchid to a new pot

Remove gently: Remove the orchid from the old pot carefully.
Clean roots: Remove old substrate and rotten (brown/soft) roots.
Soak: Soak the roots in lukewarm water for 10 minutes.
New substrate: Use fresh orchid substrate (wood bark)
Location: Place the orchid in the center of the pot.
Filling: Fill the substrate around the roots, do not compact it!

⏰ Best time to transplant: After the orchid has finished blooming, when new roots (green at the tip) begin to grow.
