🌼 Ranunculus Mix - Multi-layered petals

Ten Ranunculus corms in a mixed color blend, in a convenient package. Each flower is composed of many layers of petals that open gradually, resembling a small rose. Packaging image shows: pink, red, yellow, and white - the specific mix in each bag is determined by the producer.

Garden Ranunculus were developed from the Persian Buttercup (Ranunculus asiaticus), a wildflower that also blooms in the fields of Israel. Before planting, soak the corms for about 12 hours and plant with the "claws" facing downward. Blooming occurs from February to April, reaching a height of about 40 cm.

📝 Good to know

🖐️ How to identify the side?

The Ranunculus corm has small, pointed "claws," like a talon. These should point downward, and the side they sprout from should face upward.

⏱️ Proper soaking

About 12 hours in water is sufficient. Soaking significantly longer may cause rot.

🔁 Blooming next year

You can keep the corms dry through the summer and replant in the fall. Second-year blooms may not be as vigorous as the first.

📅 Estimated timings

Timings and heights are estimates and depend on region, weather, and growing conditions. Color combinations may also vary between bags.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

❓ Which side of the corm is planted downwards?

The pointed "fingers" should face downwards. The side they grow from should face upwards.

❓ Why soak them, and for how long?

About 12 hours in water, in a shaded place. The dry corms absorb water and swell, then they should be planted immediately.

❓ When should I plant ranunculus?

October-December, after the weather cools down.

❓ Can they be planted in a pot?

Yes. A pot or planter with drainage holes and well-draining soil, in a spot that gets full sun. Plant at a depth of about 3 cm with 5-10 cm spacing.

❓ How long until they bloom?

Flowering usually occurs in February-April, depending on the planting date and weather conditions.

❓ What should I do after flowering?

Leave the leaves until they yellow and stop watering. Then, remove the corms and store them in a dry place until autumn.

❓ Why did the corms rot?

Usually due to soil that is too wet or poor drainage. Plant in well-draining soil, don't overwater, and don't soak for longer than about 12 hours.

🌼 In Short - Who Is This For?

Ranunculus mix is suitable for those who want full, colorful flowers in a sunny planter or bed, as well as flowers for a vase. Soak, plant with the "fingers" facing down, and give them sun.

💡 Tip: For the vase - cut when the bud is already colored but not yet fully open. The flower will open indoors.
