Full sun - mandatory! The more sun it gets, the more it will bloom and the foliage will be silverier. Can tolerate partial shade, but sun is the secret to success. Ideal for Mediterranean gardens.
💧 Watering
Drought-tolerant! A xerophytic plant (loves dryness) that manages with minimal water. Water only when the soil is dry 3-5 cm deep. In winter, it barely needs watering. Overwatering = root rot!
🪨 Soil
Excellent drainage! Prefers poor to medium, rocky or sandy soil. Excellent for rock gardens, planters, and balconies. In a pot - add perlite or gravel for drainage. Does not like soil that is too rich.
🌡️ Temperature
Loves Mediterranean heat! Resistant to cold down to -10°C. Perfect for the Israeli climate! Does not need winter protection in most of the country. In especially cold places (like Jerusalem), it is worth covering during a harsh winter.
Common problems and solutions
💛 Yellow leaves
Almost always overwatering! The Convolvulus hates wetness. Significantly reduce watering and ensure excellent drainage. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings.
🌸 No blooms
Lack of sun! Move to a sunnier spot. Also, soil that is too rich can cause leaf growth at the expense of flowers. Does not need rich fertilizer.
💦 Root rot

Convolvulus cneorum (Silver Bush) is a compact evergreen shrub from the Convolvulaceae family. It originates from the limestone hills of the Mediterranean region - which makes it perfect for the Israeli climate!
Special foliage: The silver-green leaves are covered with delicate, silky hairs that give them a shimmering silver appearance. The foliage is attractive all year round, even when the plant is not blooming.
Blooming: From late spring to summer. Pink flower buds that open into white trumpet-shaped flowers with a yellow center and a delicate pink stripe. The flowers attract bees and butterflies!
Size: A low and dense shrub, 30-60 cm high and 60-120 cm wide. Very suitable for rock gardens, borders, slopes, pots, and planters.
