Sun to partial shade - blooms best in full sun, but will also grow well in partial shade. Very flexible!
Irrigation
Very drought tolerant! - First year: Water regularly. After establishment - hardly needed. Perfect for water-efficient gardens.

Not picky at all! Grows in any type of soil. Prefers good drainage but also tolerates heavy soil.

Resistant to heat, drought, winds and light cold (down to -5ยฐC). Excellent for the Israeli climate! Also tolerates light salinity.
Pruning
Remove dead leaves and old flower stalks to maintain a neat appearance. Divide every few years if the plant grows too large.

The dianthus looks great in a group planting! Plant 3-5 plants together at a distance of 50-60 cm to create a "sea" of graphic leaves. Perfect along paths, as a border in flower beds, or as a focal point in a modern garden. The flowers open in the morning and close in the evening - daily magic!
