- Flowers not opening: This is natural! The flowers close on cloudy days and in the evening
- No flowers: Lack of sun! Gazania needs full sun to bloom
- Yellow leaves and rot: Overwatering or poor drainage. Reduce watering!
- A low, thin plant: too rich soil or shade. It needs lean soil and sun.
- Gray mold: Humidity too high. Improve ventilation and reduce watering.
- Aphids: Not common, but if present - treat with potassium soap

The most common mistake with gazanias? Overwatering! Gazanias come from dry areas and prefer dry soil. Too much water = root rot = death.
