☀️ Lighting
Very flexible! Part shade to full sun. Varieties with bronze foliage tolerate more sun. Varieties with green foliage prefer part shade. In warm areas - protect from strong midday sun.
💧 Irrigation
Keep soil moist but not wet. Let the top layer dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid watering on the leaves - can cause fungal diseases. Water at the base of the plant.
🌱 Earth
Rich and well-drained. Potting soil or a mix with perlite for drainage. Organic matter improves the soil. Good drainage is essential!
🌡️ Temperature
Loves heat! Ideal temperature 18-27°C. Does not tolerate frost! Minimum 10°C. In cold areas - grow as an annual or bring indoors for the winter. In warm areas (zone 9+) - perennial!
Common problems and solutions
💛 Yellow leaves
Overwatering is usually the most common problem! Make sure the soil dries out a bit between waterings. It could also be a lack of light or old leaves shedding (normal).
🍂 Leaf fall
There could be a sudden temperature change , cold air currents, or under-watering. Maintain a stable temperature and constant humidity.
🦠 Pollen / Mold
White or gray spots on the leaves. Caused by high humidity and poor ventilation. Remove diseased plants, improve ventilation, do not wet the leaves!
🐛 Pests
Aphids, mites, thrips. Check under the leaves regularly. Treat with potassium soap or neem oil. Good ventilation prevents infestation.

The scientific name Begonia semperflorens means "always blooming begonia"! semper = always, florens = blooming. And it's true - under good conditions it really does bloom almost non-stop from spring to autumn, and if grown indoors - even all year round!
