Sowing Guide - Step by Step

Choose an area with full sun or partial shade . Beets are relatively tolerant of different light conditions!

🪴 Preparing the ground
Fill the soil/planter with well-drained potting mix . Beets like soft soil - do not compact!

Make holes 1 cm deep. Leave a 10 cm gap between holes.

Place one seed in each hole and gently cover with soil.

Water gently until the soil is moist. Do not overwater!

After germination - continue watering regularly . Maintain 10 cm spacing between plants (thin if necessary).

Keep the soil evenly moist . Avoid flooding! Beets are sensitive to excess water.

About 90 days from sowing. Partial harvest possible when the tuber is the size of a small fist , or wait until fully ripe. The leaves are edible - you can pick them too!

Keep the soil evenly moist . Dryness or excess water will cause cracked or warped beets.
🚫 Avoid flooding!
Beets are sensitive to excess water! Good drainage is essential. If the soil is too wet - the tubers will rot.
☀️ Shading in the summer
In the summer, light shading is recommended during hot hours . Beets do not like extreme heat.
🧪 Gentle fertilization
We fertilized with a gentle fertilizer once every two weeks . Don't overdo it - excess nitrogen creates leaves at the expense of the tuber.
🪨 Soft soil!
Beets love soft soil - don't compact the soil! Hard soil = small, misshapen tubers.
