🐒 About Monstera Monkey Mask

The Monstera Monkey Mask (Monstera adansonii) is one of the trendiest plants in the world of home decor – and for good reason. The green leaves full of natural holes (fenestrations) create a unique look, as if someone carefully cut them out.

The product comes including a coir pole – just as seen in the picture. The plant is already trained to climb, which encourages larger leaves and allows it to reach an impressive size.

A forgiving and fast-growing plant – ideal even for those just starting out with houseplants. Suitable for a shelf, windowsill, or as a statement plant in the living room.

❓ Why does the plant have holes?

This is a natural trait of the plant – in nature, the holes allow wind to pass through the leaves and reduce damage during storms. That is also why it is called the "Swiss Cheese Plant"!

❓ Will the leaves grow more holes?

Yes! As the plant matures and receives good conditions (light, climbing pole), new leaves will emerge larger and with more holes.

❓ What is the difference between a Monkey Mask and a regular Monstera?

The regular Monstera (Deliciosa) is larger with split leaves. The Monkey (Adansonii) is smaller, a climber, and has leaves full of holes – perfect for the home.

❓ Do I need to replace the coir pole?

When the plant reaches the top of the pole, you can extend it with another pole, or prune and propagate new branches.

❓ The leaves have turned yellow – what is the reason?

Usually overwatering. Ensure the soil dries out between waterings and that the pot has drainage. Occasional yellowing of an old leaf is normal.
