❓ When should I sow zucchini?

In Israel, you can sow almost all year round, but zucchini loves heat. The most convenient time is from spring until early autumn; in winter, especially in cold areas, germination and growth are slower.

❓ How do I sow?

Loosen the soil, add compost, and sow directly in place at a depth of 1 cm, with 50 cm between plants and 100 cm between rows. Water immediately and keep the soil moist until germination, which takes 5-10 days.

❓ When should I harvest?

About 60 days from sowing. Pick young, tender zucchini that are 15-20 cm long; frequent harvesting encourages the plant to keep producing fruit.

Yes, in a large, deep pot with drainage holes, one plant per pot. Place it in a spot that gets at least 6 hours of sun and water regularly, because soil in a pot dries out quickly.

❓ There are flowers, but the small zucchinis are yellowing and falling off - why?

This is usually a pollination problem: the female flower has a small zucchini at its base, and it needs pollen from a male flower. If there are not enough bees, transfer pollen from a male flower to a female flower in the morning using a small brush.
