Sowing guide - Step-by-step

🪨 Soil preparation - Critical!
Prepare deep, aerated, and soft soil. The carrot must have space to grow downward! Remove stones and clumps - they cause deformed carrots.

📐 Creating furrows
Create shallow furrows only half a cm deep. 20 cm spacing between rows.

🌱 Spreading seeds
Scatter the seeds gently along the furrow. You can scatter them densely - we'll thin them later!

🪴 Covering
Cover with a thin layer of soil and press lightly. Don't bury them deep!

💧 First watering
Water gently! So as not to move the seeds. Spray or drip is preferred.

✂️ Thinning - Important!
After sprouts appear - thin to 10 cm spacing. This is critical for large and beautiful carrots!

💧 Moisture maintenance
Keep constant moisture - not too much and not too little. Dry/excess water = cracked carrots!

🥕 Harvest!
When leaves are strong and the carrot top peeks out of the soil (approx. 60 days) - pull gently! Tip: water before harvesting to make it easier to pull out.
Tips for success
🪨 Soft soil = Critical!
Do not plant in clumpy soil! Stones and clumps cause deformed and split carrots. Till and rake the soil before sowing.
💧 Constant moisture
Keep even moisture! Dryness or excess water = cracked carrots. Morning watering supports even growth.
🔄 Continuous sowing
For continuous growth - re-sow every 2-3 weeks! This way you'll always have fresh carrots.
🏺 Deep planters
You can grow in planters - just make sure they are extra deep! At least 30 cm deep for standard carrots.
✂️ Thinning is important!
Don't skip the thinning! Carrots that are too crowded will be small and thin. 10 cm between each carrot.
🧅 Successful combinations
Onion and carrot = perfect neighbors! The smell repels carrot flies and onion flies respectively. Garlic and dill are also excellent.
