📚 Plant information

Dianella , also known as the "Blue Flax Lily" or "Flax Lily", is a spectacular Australian ornamental plant in the family Asphodelaceae. The plant is named after Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt, reflecting its wild beauty and resilience.

The dianthus has long, narrow, strap-like leaves, in shades of blue-green to dark green, sometimes with white or cream stripes. In spring, delicate blue flowers appear on tall stems, followed by spectacular purple-blue berries that remain on the plant for months.

This is an evergreen perennial, extremely hardy and requires minimal care. Excellent for mass planting, ground cover, borders or as an accent plant in the garden and balcony. Grows to a height of 50-100 cm with a similar width.

💡
A professional tip from the nursery
Dianela is easily propagated by dividing the roots in the spring. If the plant has spread too much or looks thin in the center, it's time to divide it and get some new plants! Simply dig up the clump, divide it into several pieces (make sure each piece has roots), and replant. Within a season you'll have full, beautiful plants!
