☀️ Lighting

Bright, indirect light - ideal! An east or west window is perfect. Will also tolerate partial shade but will grow more slowly. Strong direct sun will burn the leaves! Strong light = more vibrant colors.

💧 Irrigation

Keep the soil slightly moist but not wet! Water when the top layer dries out. The fleshy stems store water so you can forget about it. In winter - less. Good drainage is essential!

💨 Humidity

Prefers medium to high humidity but can handle normal humidity. Brown leaf tips = needs more humidity. A pebble tray or occasional spraying will help.

🌡️ Temperature

15-24°C is ideal - normal room temperature is great! Does not like cold - avoid temperatures below 10°C. Keep away from drafts and air conditioners.

Plant information

Tradescantia fluminensis is a beautiful spreading plant from the Commelinaceae family. Native to South America (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay). Also known as "inch plant" or "spiderwort."

Special foliage: Shiny elliptical leaves with white and green stripes - each leaf is a work of art! The 'Variegata' variety is especially famous for its prominent stripes. The leaves are small and fleshy, about 3-5 cm.

Flowering: Small, delicate white flowers with three petals - appear mainly in summer when there is enough light. Charming, although the plant is grown mainly for its foliage.

Size: The stems can reach up to 60 cm and more. Grows very quickly! Perfect for hanging baskets, high shelves, or as a ground cover in the garden.
