Drought resistant! - First year: Water regularly until established. After that - hardly any watering is needed. Be careful not to overwater!

Not picky! Grows in any type of soil - sandy, clay. Most importantly: excellent drainage! Does not tolerate standing water.

Entomosporium spot disease is the most common problem - choose resistant varieties such as 'Clara' or 'Eleanor Tabor'. Very important: Do not water from above! Water only at the base of the plant to avoid wetting the leaves. Good spacing between plants and ventilation prevents disease.
