⭐ Growing Conditions
Lighting
Full sun! - At least 6 hours of direct sun a day. The more sun, the stronger the flavor and aroma!
Watering
Highly drought tolerant! - Water only when the soil is completely dry. Better too dry than too wet! Overwatering = death.
Soil
Excellent drainage is a must! Light, sandy, or rocky soil. You can add sand or perlite to regular soil. Prefers poor soil - no need for fertilizer!
Temperature
Loves Mediterranean heat! Resistant to extreme heat and light cold (down to -10°C). Most varieties are perennial in the Israeli climate.
Pruning and Harvesting
Harvest frequently! This encourages bushier growth. Prune before flowering for the best flavor. After flowering - prune back by 1/3 to rejuvenate.

💡 Pro Tip
For the strongest flavor - harvest in the morning, after the dew has dried and before the strong sun. Drying: Tie in bunches and hang upside down in a dry, ventilated place for two weeks. Dried oregano is even stronger than fresh! Keep in an airtight jar for up to a year.
