🔬
Why "Burbella"? The nickname comes from the unique texture of the leaves — deep veins that create silver-green bubbles and bumps on each leaf surface. Native to the rainforests of South America, it grows in the shade of large trees — which is why it adapts perfectly to home interiors and spaces with limited light. Reddish stems contrast with the silver-green of the leaves — every detail is perfect.
💧 Watering — The most important rule ▼

Like most Peperomias, the Burbella prefers soil that dries out between waterings. When the top layer (2 cm) dries out — it's time for a deep watering until water drains from the drainage holes.

Always water the soil directly — water that sits in the bubbly leaf crevices can lead to fungal spots.

Overwatering sign: Yellow and soft leaves. Drought sign: Stems losing firmness — water immediately.

🌱 Soil, Fertilizing, and Repotting ▼

Soil: Well-draining mix — houseplant soil with 20% perlite. Good drainage is essential.

Fertilizing: Balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring–summer), at half strength. Do not fertilize in winter.

Repotting: Every 2–3 years — it grows slowly and likes to be a bit snug.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this plant suitable for beginners? +
Absolutely — Peperomia Burbella is very easy to grow. It is compact, forgiving of changing conditions, and does not require much attention. Suitable for all skill levels.
Why should I avoid spraying the leaves directly? +
The bubbly texture creates small crevices that hold water — water that remains there for a long time can encourage fungal spots. Misting the air around the plant is fine. Directly on the leaves is not recommended.
Does the plant come in a pot? +

The plant arrives in a plastic nursery pot — and our recommendation is to keep it in there. A nursery pot provides optimal drainage and aeration.

We have a large selection of decorative pots and planters in the store — you can add them to your order.
