Pothos (Devil's Ivy) is one of the most popular and easiest houseplants to grow! It features shiny, heart-shaped green leaves, often with yellow or white variegation. A spectacular trailing plant suitable for all experience levels - from beginners to experts alike. Tolerates neglect, low light, and less-than-ideal conditions.

🌱 Growing Conditions

Light: Very flexible! From shade to bright indirect light. Avoid strong direct sun.
Watering: Let the soil dry out between waterings. Tolerates neglect!
Temperature: 15-30°C. Does not like extreme cold.
Humidity: Adapts to normal household humidity.
Soil: General houseplant potting mix, well-draining.
Fertilizer: Once every month or two in spring-summer. Not required!
Pruning: Trim to encourage density or control length.
Growing in water: Possible! Can live in water for a long time.

Yellow leaves: Usually overwatering. Let it dry out more.
Brown leaf tips: Dry air or underwatering for too long.
Loss of variegation (solid color): Lack of light. Move closer to a window.
Long, leggy stems: Lack of light. Trim and propagate.

Root rot: Overwatering. Reduce water and check drainage.
Aphids/Pests: Check under leaves. Treat with insecticidal soap.

✂️ Plant Propagation

Stem cuttings in water: The easiest way!
How? Cut a stem with at least one node and a leaf.
Place in water: Submerge the node, keep leaves above.
Location: Bright indirect light.
Roots: Will appear within a week or two!
Transfer to soil: When roots are 5+ cm long (or leave in water!).
Direct propagation in soil: Also works - plant and keep moist.
Tip: Multiple cuttings in one pot = an instantly full plant!

The secret to large leaves? Let the Pothos climb! On a coco-coir pole or a wall, the leaves grow 2-3 times their normal size. Rescuing a "bald" plant: Trim the long stems, propagate them, and plant the cuttings back into the pot for a lush, full plant. Growing in water forever: Pothos can live in water for years! Just change the water every week and add a drop of liquid fertilizer occasionally. Office lighting: One of the few plants that thrives on neon light alone.
