Full sun - a must! At least 6-8 hours of direct sun per day. Also likes heat reflected from walls. The more sun - the more blooms! In partial shade, it will bloom less.

Extremely drought tolerant! Water deeply but infrequently. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering = root rot and fewer flowers! After establishment - almost no watering is needed.

Excellent drainage - critical! Prefers sandy, rocky or basaltic soil. Does not tolerate heavy or clay soil! Basic (alkaline) pH. Does not need rich soil - on the contrary, lean soil is preferable. Tolerates salinity.

Loves extreme heat! Blooms especially in hot, dry climates. Cold-resistant to -9ยฐC to -12ยฐC. Evergreen. Perfect for the Israeli climate! Tolerates both high and low humidity.

Common causes: Lack of sun - needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Overwatering - too much water encourages foliage instead of flowers. White leaf blooms after rain or high humidity in the air ("barometer bush").
๐ Yellow leaves (chlorosis)
Caused by poor drainage or heavy soil . White Rose does not tolerate clay or wet soil! Improve drainage or move to a more suitable location.
๐ฆ Root rot
Overwatering! The most common cause of leaf death. Signs: limp foliage, brown roots. Solution: Stop watering, improve drainage. A healthy shrub hardly needs watering!

Does the shrub look "leggy"? Prune in late winter or early spring to encourage a more rounded, dense shape. Pruning encourages flowering on new growth.

White Rose is also called the "barometer bush" because it blooms after rain or when there is high humidity in the air! This is a unique feature - the purple flowers appear like magic after precipitation. In Israel - expect spectacular blooms after the winter and autumn rains.

Important: Whiteleaf does not need fertilizer or compost! It prefers thin, poor soil. Fertilization may cause excessive foliage growth at the expense of flowering, and weaken the plant.
