The plant contains an irritating milky resin that may irritate the skin and eyes. Work with gloves and avoid contact with the face. The thorns are sharp!
Growing conditions
☀️ Lighting
Full sun - essential for flowering! Minimum 4 hours of direct sun per day. Ideal - south or west window. Without enough light - will not bloom! Can also tolerate bright indirect light.
💧 Irrigation
Little - let the soil dry out completely! Water when the top 2-3 cm is completely dry. In winter - even less. Very drought-resistant! The fleshy stems store water like a cactus.
🌱 Earth
Excellent drainage! Mixture for cacti and succulents. Can be prepared: 1 part soil, 1 part perlite, 1 part coarse sand. Drainage is essential - does not tolerate standing water!
🌡️ Temperature
Loves heat! Ideal 18-32°C. Minimum 10-13°C. Does not tolerate frost at all! In winter - keep away from cold windows. Suitable for the whole house at room temperature.
💨 Humidity
Prefers dryness! Normal room humidity is excellent. No need for spraying or misting. The plant originates from tropical Madagascar but is adapted to dry conditions.
Common problems and solutions
🌸 No flowers
Lack of light! This is the most common reason. Move to a window with direct sunlight for at least 4 hours a day. Over-fertilization (nitrogen) can also prevent flowering.
🍂 Yellow leaves / Falling leaves
Overwatering! Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Old leaves naturally fall off - new leaves grow at the edges.
🦠 Root rot
Standing water! Ensure excellent drainage, do not leave water in the bottom. Use soil for succulents. Reduce watering drastically.
🐛 Pests
Aphids, mites, thrips. Check under the leaves. Spray with potassium soap or neem oil. The plant is relatively resistant to pests.

Fertilization: Diluted fertilizer for succulents every 2-3 weeks in spring-summer. Do not over-fertilize - this will prevent flowering!
Repotting: Every 2-3 years in spring. The plant prefers a dense pot - this encourages flowering! Repot only when absolutely necessary.
