Lucky Bamboo

According to Chinese tradition, the number of stalks determines the type of luck the plant brings:

• 🎋 2 stalks: Love and romance – perfect for couples and bedrooms
• 🎋🎋🎋 3 stalks: Happiness, wealth, and longevity – the classic trio!
• 🍀 4 stalks: Avoid! In Chinese culture, 4 symbolizes death (due to similar pronunciation). You won't find an arrangement of 4
• 🎋 5 stalks: Health and balance – for all 5 areas of life
• 🎋 6 stalks: Good luck and financial prosperity
• 🎋 7 stalks: Good health
• 🎋 8 stalks: Growth and abundance – 8 is a very lucky number in Chinese culture!
• 🎋 9 stalks: Great general luck
• 🎋 10 stalks: Perfection and completion
• 🏯 21 stalks: A powerful overall blessing – all types of luck together!

💡 Not sure? 3 stalks is the most popular classic – happiness, wealth, and health!

According to the art of Feng Shui, the placement of Lucky Bamboo in the home influences the type of energy it brings:

• 🧭 East: Family health – the most recommended location!
• 💰 Southeast: Wealth and financial prosperity
• 🏠 Center of the home: Balance and unity
• 🚪 Home/Office entrance: Invites positive energy inside
• 💼 On your desk: Success in career and business

The 5 elements in Lucky Bamboo:

A perfect Lucky Bamboo arrangement includes the 5 Feng Shui elements:

• 🌿 Wood: The plant itself
• 💧 Water: The water it grows in
• 🪨 Earth: Pebbles in the vase
• 🔥 Fire: A red ribbon tied around the stalks (tradition!)
• ⚙️ Metal: The glass, ceramic, or metal container

Lucky Bamboo is one of the easiest plants to care for!

• 💧 Water: Grows directly in water! Change the water every week or two. Use water that has sat for 24 hours (for chlorine to evaporate) or filtered water
• 📏 Water level: 3-5 cm of water covering the roots is enough. No need to submerge the whole stalk!
• ☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light. No direct sun! Direct sun = yellow, scorched leaves
• 🌡️ Temperature: 18-30°C. Standard room temperature is perfect
• 🌱 Fertilizer: One drop (!) of liquid fertilizer diluted when changing water, once every month or two. Not strictly necessary
• 🪨 Pebbles: Place pebbles at the bottom of the container for stability + aesthetics + the "Earth" element in Feng Shui

Lucky Bamboo comes in various shapes – each with its own character:

• 📏 Straight: Classic and elegant. Straight, upright stalks. Minimalist and modern
• 🌀 Spiral: Curled stalks in a spiral shape. The most popular! Dramatic and impressive
• ❤️ Heart: Two stalks shaped like a heart. A perfect romantic gift!
• 🏯 Tower / Pyramid: A multi-layered arrangement that looks like a tower. Impressive and meaningful
• 🧺 Braided: Several stalks woven together. Special and creative
• 🌊 Wavy: Stalks in a soft wave shape. Delicate and elegant

• 🍀 Brings luck! – Who doesn't want to receive good luck? A gift with real meaning
• 🏠 Housewarming: Brings luck, prosperity, and positive energy to the new home. A classic gift!
• 💼 New business: 8 stalks = growth and abundance. A perfect gift for opening a business
• 💑 Couples: 2 stalks = love. A romantic gift for a partner or anniversary
• 🎂 Birthday: A unique gift that lasts and reminds them of you – unlike flowers that wilt!
• 🌱 For everyone: No need for a "green thumb". Grows in water without soil. Even the most forgetful will succeed
• 🎨 Decorative: Looks impressive in any home, style, or decor. Always fits!

• 🍀 Brings luck! – Thousands of years of Chinese tradition don't lie
• 💧 Grows in water! – No soil, no mess, no dirt. Glass vase + water + pebbles = perfect
• 💪 Very easy to grow – Change water once a week or two, and that's it. One of the simplest plants
• 🌑 Doesn't need sun – Grows in indirect light and even artificial light. Perfect for the office!
• 🎨 Stylish and elegant – Looks impressive in any container and design style
• ⏳ Lives for years – With basic care, it lives for many years and even propagates!

• ❓ Is it really bamboo?
Actually, no! Despite the name, Lucky Bamboo is actually Dracaena (Dracaena sanderiana) – a tropical plant from a different family. It's called "bamboo" because the stalks resemble real bamboo.
• ❓ The water smells – what to do?
Stagnant water = bad smell. The solution: Change the water at least once a week. Wash the container and the pebbles. Ensure the roots are clean (if there are rotten roots – trim them).
• ❓ The stalk is yellowing – why?
Several reasons: 1) Direct sun – move to indirect light 2) Chlorine in water – use water that has sat for 24 hours 3) Over-fertilizing – use less fertilizer! 4) Dead stalk – sometimes it happens. Remove it so it doesn't affect the others.
• ❓ Can it be grown in soil?
Yes! Lucky Bamboo also grows in regular soil. But most people prefer water – it's more decorative, clean, and easy to maintain.
• ❓ How do you propagate it?
It's simple! Cut a side branch (or the top part) above a "node", put it in water, and within weeks you'll have roots. Another free lucky plant!
• ❓ What is the red ribbon?
In Feng Shui, the red ribbon represents the fire element and increases the luck energy. Red = good luck in Chinese culture. You can tie a red ribbon around the stalks or the container.
• ❓ Is Lucky Bamboo suitable for home or garden?
Mostly for home! It's a classic indoor plant – on a table, shelf, dresser, or desk. Not suitable for outdoors in direct sun.
