Full sun! - At least 6 hours of sun per day for best flowering. Can tolerate partial shade but will bloom less.

First year: Regular - water 2-3 times a week. After establishment: Very drought tolerant and coastal conditions. Prefers moist but well-drained soil.

The Brazilian is ideal for coastal gardens in Israel - it is one of the only plants that copes well with salinity, strong winds and sea spray. If you live in a colder area, you can grow it in a large pot and bring it in during the winter. For earlier flowering - choose the 'Tahiti' variety that also blooms in the winter!
